Registration and Credentials Intern

Role Description

The Registration Staff is in need of a dedicated individual to assist in the processing and support of registrants prior to and during SXSW. The intern will be responsible for providing credentials to all registrants during SXSW and assisting with registration problems and concerns. Additional duties may be assigned closer to and during the event.

Responsibilities for this position include

    Candidates should be:

  • Outgoing and have a friendly personality
  • Detail oriented

  • Able to adapt to production needs
  • Excellent with customer service skills
  • An excellent communicator (phone, email and conversation)
  • Able to stay cool under pressure and in stressful situations
  • Experienced in Mac OS, FileMaker Pro and Excel
  • Patient and kind
  • Skills learned:

  • Networking is important
  • The art of saying “No”
  • The “test drive” hands-on experience to help you decide what kind of work you want to pursue after graduation
  • Problem solving with creative solutions
  • Basic business practices such as customer service and proper phone and email etiquette
  • How to present and conduct oneself as a professional at all times and work effectively with customers and the Registration and Credentials team


This position runs through April 2019 Applicants should be available 10-20 hours a week.
