Following a schedule and working as a team, this role involves the delivery and pickup of DJ equipment throughout the event, covering a variety of locations and venues, working around performance schedules and load-in/out times. This includes setup and pack down of gear and often being on-call for technical assistance with equipment. There is an opportunity to meet pre-event and do a training session with the team - basic to expert training - and a great way to meet everyone and run through how the nights will proceed. Shifts begin at 5pm and end quite late during all nights of Music. Team members must be 21+ and have DJ experience with technical knowledge. This role can be physically demanding; volunteers must be strong and fit.
Outdoor Stage performances take place Thursday-Saturday, March 17-19, at Auditorium Shores. Volunteers will staff the entrance to the park and various access points within it. Daytime availability is required on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. An additional set-up/teardown days will take place on Wednesday, March 16 and Sunday, March 20. This is the only Music Festival Crew that accepts volunteers under the age of 21.

Technical knowledge is a plus but certainly not a requirement. Some driving is required but shared between the team. Shifts will cover a variety of locations and venues around performance schedules and load-in/out times. Shifts begin at 5pm and end quite late during all nights of Music. Team members must be 21+ and have a valid drivers license. This role can be physically demanding; volunteers must be strong and fit.
Assist performers loading equipment into venues, and on and off the stage during set changes. Helps the venue staff maintain entrance points, communicates pertinent information to artists, stage managers and staff as well as survey the venue for potential problems. Stage Crew volunteers are assigned to one of the official SXSW Music Festival venues, and will work in the same venue each night. Every effort is made to assign volunteers based on musical preference. Volunteers must be age 21+.
Volunteers will fill-in at various music venues where needed, between the hours of 5:30PM and 2AM. May be asked to perform any of the various tasks that other Production Crews perform. Volunteers must be age 21+.
This is a position of significant responsibility. A stage manager works as a liaison between the SXSW Staff, venue and performers. They are responsible for managing the performance schedule and stage crew at one of the official SXSW Music Festival venues. Involves a great deal of pre-event work, as well as availability throughout the music festival. Volunteers must be age 21+, no exceptions.
