BANNERS
Hangs and removes all SXSW banners in the various panel rooms, venues, and theaters around the event. Requires stamina, balance, and ability to carry up to 30 lbs.

COMEDY STAGE CREW*
Admits attendees into Comedy venues, ensures that performers start and end on time, clear the venue after performances. Assignments subject to venue age restrictions

FILM ROADIES & RUNNERS*
Loads Film Tech center equipment in and out; builds screening facilities when necessary; transports films to appropriate venues for screenings. Must be age 25+, with good driving record and valid insurance. Pre-event availability, heavy lifting required.

FILM TECH CENTER
Tracks receipt and shipment of all films to the Film Tech Center. Some pre-event availability required.

FILM VENUE STAFF
Admits attendees into film venues; introduces films and filmmakers if necessary; ensures that films start on time; clear the theater after screenings.

GREEN ZONE
Volunteers will assist staff and vendors with the overall functionality of the area. The Green Zone highlights sustainability efforts by both SXSW and partner companies. An ideal crew for those interested in living green. Duties may include, but are not limited to providing information about the Green Zone to patrons, helping to keep the area clean, assisting with recycling efforts and some set-up/tear-down.

HIGH BEAM SPECIAL EVENTS*
Helps staff various official parties and special events during Film, Interactive, and Music. Must be age 21+.

OUTDOOR STAGE
Outdoor Stage performances take place Thursday-Saturday, March 15-17, at Auditorium Shores on Lady Bird Lake (formerly Town Lake). Shows are free and open to the public. This volunteer crew will staff the entrance to the park, and various access points within it. Daytime availability is required on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. An additional set-up day will also take place on the Wednesday before.
Requires a minimum of three shifts to earn a Music Badge. Platinum Badges can be earned by working at least three, 8 hour shifts plus one, 12 hour shift. Not eligible for Gold Badges
PRODUCTION RELIEF*
Stand by volunteers that fill in at various Music, Film, and Interactive events where volunteers are in need at night between 5:30pm and 2am. Could be asked to perform any of the various tasks of any other Production Crew. Assignments are subject to venue age restrictions

PHOTOGRAPHERS*
Assigned to photograph all aspects of Interactive, Film and Music: keynote addresses, panel sessions, parties, music venues, showcases, and more. Must be age 21+ (limited exceptions for age 18+); have Digital-SLR camera and portfolio ready to view on the internet. All photography is assignment-based. SPECIAL VENUES
Roaming team that assists clubs in need of additional staff in the evenings. This crew handles lines and crowds at venues. Other duties include the responsibilities of a stage crew member or stage manager, as designated by the SXSW staff. Crew members are not specifically assigned to a club, but assist at any venue in need.
Requires a minimum of three shifts for a Music Badge. Platinum Badges can be earned by working 5 nights March 13-17 or 4 nights during SXSW Music plus 2 half shifts at either a film premier or helping with Registration lines. Not eligible for Gold Badges
SPONSOR PHOTOGRAPHY*
Assigned to photograph on-site SXSW sponsorship activation within the festival. Must be 21, have digital SLR camera.

STAGE CREW*
Assists performers in loading equipment into the venue and on and off the stage during set changes, helps the venue staff monitor capacity and maintain entrance points, communicates pertinent information to artists, stage managers and staff and surveys the venue for problems.
Stage Crew volunteers are assigned to one of the SXSW Music Festival venues, and will work in the same venue each night. Venue assignments are made, as much as they can be, based on volunteer musical preferences but are also subject to venue age restrictions. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of 18, 21+ preferred.
Requires a minimum of three shifts for a Music Badge. Platinum Badges can be earned by working on one of the stages that operate at least 5 nights of SXSW Music March 13-18.Not eligible for Gold Badges
STAGE MANAGER*
This is a position of significant responsibility. A Stage Manager works as a liaison between SXSW staff, the venue and performers. They are responsible for managing the performance schedule and stage crew at one of the SXSW Music Festival venues. This involves a great deal of pre-event work, as well as availability throughout the Music Festival. Volunteers must be at least 21 years of age, no exceptions.
SXSW Stage Managers earn Platinum Badges.
STREET TEAM*
Works in and around the SXSW street closure. They assist SXSW artists (with loading and unloading) in the designated loading and unloading areas, place notices around the downtown area informing the artists and the public about the street closure and help notify bands and public about the parking situation in and around the street closure. Volunteers may be asked to drive golf carts, so licensed drivers are needed.
Requires a minimum of three shifts for a Music Badge. Platinum Badges can be earned by working 5 shifts/nights, March 13-17. Not eligible for Gold Badges
TRANSPORTATION*
Drives SXSW vans from venue to venue and to various locations to pick up supplies and other items needed by festival staff. Drivers must be age 25+, with valid ID and insurance. Dispatchers may be under age 25, but must be able to navigate Austin streets.

VIDEO PROJECTIONISTS
Responsible for the presentation of films at venues. Receive and cue tapes, perform tech checks individually and with film representatives prior to screening. Digital projection of festival trailers and films. Experience preferred but not required.
