SXSW Internships

All positions are unpaid and you must be a current student. Most positions require a weekly time commitment and more than full-time availability during SXSWeek, and the days immediately prior to the start of the event. All internships require in office attendance unless otherwise specified in the internship description.

To apply for an internship, submit your resume and cover letter to the SXSW Intern Coordinator. Include in your cover letter why you think an internship with SXSW would benefit you. Designate up to (3) internship positions you wish to apply for (from greatest interest to least). Include your choices in both your cover letter and the body of the email. Eco Sales & Marketing Internship

Description:

SXSW Eco seeks a sales intern to assist the account executive with all sales activations, including parties, exhibition, competitions, partner programming and other events. This position will begin with research and prospecting for innovative sustainability leaders, and transition to a more production oriented role towards the end of the season. This is a great opportunity to learn the basics of building events and productions from the ideation to execution, while managing client relationships.

Requirements for this position include:

  • Strong research skills
  • Ability to stay organized and handle administrative tasks
  • Creativity in developing new events and ideas
  • Creative thinking for marketing strategy and outreach
  • Strong writing skills and communication skills for email updates, blogs, print pieces, etc
  • Ability to work under pressure in a constantly changing environment
  • Ability to multi task onsite handling multiple events and logistics during the conference

Availability:
This position begins as soon as possible and lasts through October 17th. Full time availability during SXSW 2014 (March 7 - 16) is desirable, but full time availability during SXSW Eco (October 5-8) is required. Schedule is flexible for spring semester with a 20 hour per week commitment during the summer and early fall.
